The David Hammond Stories

Please note. My books do not contain offensive language.
David is a sceptic, a paranormal researcher who wants to know why people believe so strongly that ghosts are real. Unlike most people, he can see, hear, and feel the presences that people believe to be ghosts. He sees the reality behind the imaginings. What others describe as sensational, he studies to find the facts that are hidden behind abandoned memories from the past, and also from the present. The books follow David’s unusual career from the early days in 2006 to the present time. It all starts on a train to Scotland in The Gate in the Shadows.

This what most people seem to find themselves saying when asked about anything paranormal. Often this is because they have had their own slightly odd experience, something they couldn’t make sense of, but they don’t want to believe in all the nonsense that people make up about ghosts. If this sounds like you, and you don’t mind taking the time to tell your story, I would love to hear from you. I have started a research project, although I have no idea yet where it is going to lead, hence the name.

My random thoughts that didn’t make it into a newsletter.
This might look like a blog, but it isn’t. I will add something new occasionally, but only when the right thoughts come along. Mad ideas, discoveries, and philosophical navel gazing that doesn’t find a home in my newsletters will end up here.

"A thinking person's ghost story."
Tommy Witcher
My debut novel, first of a series of seven that have taken fifteen years to write. If you like a mystery, but are not sure about what people call ghosts, this is for you. Set in the glorious Scottish Highlands and Islands.
This is what my life looks like. Forget ideas of writers jotting down stories in the sunshine. This is the reality, working at a desk like everybody else. I write scripts for science programmes, and I write books. I absolutely love it.
Yes, I am one of those left-handed people who write sideways and upside-down. If you want to find out more about what I am up to, subscribe to my newsletters for a bit of fun. I don't take myself too seriously.
The second in the David Hammond series. If you like a ghost story without cobwebs and graveyards, in the sort of house where you or I could live, then find out what happens to Alex, and why it might not be what you think.
