Ghosts may not be real, but there are undoubtedly many things that cannot be explained. For too long, the very idea of anything you might call paranormal has been made ridiculous. Stories and films full of terror and gore. Ghost stories have become nothing more than a sideshow of horror.
But what if they are nothing like that?
The David Hammond collection follows the career of a paranormal researcher from his beginnings in 2008 to the present day. He does not believe in ghosts, but sometimes we are forced to change our beliefs.
Why Parapsychology?
I started writing stories about what may or may not be ghosts because I have always had a fascination about such things. After taking an interest in the subject for as long as I have, it is difficult to conclude that beneath all the fakery, folklore, and illusions, there is not some element of truth.
So that I could understand what makes David Hammond tick, I had to study everything, from ancient beliefs, to the latest theories about all the things we would call hauntings. The more I read, the more questions I wanted to ask, so I enrolled myself on a course in parapsychology without any real idea of what I was letting myself in for. Although my interest is very specifically in what people perceive to be hauntings, you simply cannot make sense of such things without a thorough understanding of everything that gets lumped together and called paranormal, and there is more to it than you may think.
Something Spooky.
Learning so much about our perception of hauntings, the unknown, and places where we just do not feel comfortable, inspired me to write some classic ghost stories, not just horror with graveyards and cobwebs, proper ghost stories that make you think. These are books for dark nights, Halloween, when the things you do not want to be true about ghosts might become real.
